The Beginning of My Ashtanga Practice

The #2 item on my 30 By 30 list is to master the Ashtanga Yoga asanas. I’m still very much a beginner in Ashtanga. I’ve attended only 3-4 classes. While I will still go to one class each month, I need to find a solution to begin my at-home practice.

I found this post with a list of Ashtanga cheat sheets. The links in the post are broken, but it still has some good information in it. The real link to the list of resources is here, for now.

No, cheat sheets are no substitution for a teacher. But, this is what will work best for me and my hectic schedule. They might very well be a “crutch” as the post above says, but there is no shame in needing a crutch. Especially when it comes to beginning of doing something great for your mind, body, and spirit.

I’ve downloaded the cheat sheets, now to print them and use them at least 4 times/week until I can master the sequence from memory.
